POEMS BY ME

Catching a Glimpse

Flickers of light

Buzzing by.

Endless discoveries.

You catch

A

Glimpse of what could be.

You notice perhaps,

 You hope.

Then you ask the question

Will it be better this time?

You squint,

 The image is hazy

It is fraught with confusion.

You seem dazed.

Perhaps in the corner

Of your eye

You realize

You can never contain or sustain it.

You only catch a glimpse of

The cherished,

The budding,

The unrealized.

Yet

 You continue to Hope.

Convincing yourself

To chase the flickers of light.

I guess catching a glimpse is better

Than not seeing it at all.

This moving debut collection of poems is inspired by a twelve-year journey traveling across both physical and spiritual barriers to places of discomfort to realize that our humanity truly unites us.The poems compel the reader to examine their own “divides” and begin the journey towards crossing borders and bridging divides. The poetic journey in Pieces of a Rhapsody in Words transports the reader to a place where they can create their own rhapsody in words.
